Split Rock Light

The lighthouse depicted on this site is Split Rock Light and is located on Lake Superior in Minnesota.

In late 1997, Insaniac (one of the Curators) was visiting Minnesota to give a lecture on some obscure and complex area of physics. (i.e. obscure and complex to the other Curators.)

He had the opportunity to visit Split Rock Light, which is open to the public, and take the photographs that appear on this page. The Minnesota Historical Society has information about Split Rock Light on their web site.

If you are interested in lighthouses, we list several sites in The Lighthouse Library.
